Delivered my Christmas Shoebox to the homeless today

I have just dropped tonight my Christmas shoebox to a homeless man.

Over the past few weeks, I have been collecting useful things, and some goodies of course, to a a homeless stranger and this week I finally managed to gather all the items together and hunt for a genuine homeless person. These days it can be tricky finding genuine ones with all the con artists around, but I did manage to find one.

If you are looking to do something similar, here are some ideas of what you can put in a Shoebox for the Homeless:

1) A warm Hat, it is even nicer when you make it yourself
2) Socks
3) A Cowl
4) Boiled Sweets (something that is shareable)
5) Mince Pie
6) Crisps
7) Fingerless Gloves
8) Chocolate
9) Wetwipes/tissues
10) Sanitary items for women
11) Plasters
12) Poncho
13) Toothbrush/Toothpaste

Have you ever done this, let me know your experiences.

COPPA: Thousands of Youtube Creators will be leaving Youtube in droves by 1st January 2020

Due to a number of policy changes by Youtube, many Youtube creators, both big and small will be leaving, some finding other channels to make videos..

Youtube has been asking Youtube Creators to make their videos ‘Made for Kids’ or ‘Not for Made for Kids’ but many videos are in general areas, and there is no real clarity. It is making many of them anxious. Some of them are thinking of getting another job and giving up their Youtube career or hobby.

If a video say, that has a pet in it, or bright colours, or people speaking in childish voices, this could be made ‘Made for Kids’, even if the channel actually is directed towards adults? If a video is deemed ‘Made for Kids, the video will lose its comments section, notifications and it will be demonetised. Having comments was part of the fun of uploading videos.

Some craft channels are leaving, as crafts can cover all ages.Women crafters are saying that the new rule are ‘discriminatory’ as most craft channels are run by women. Some Youtubers are taking the risk and carrying on.

Some Youtubers have been locked out of their channel, and cannot get in as they have lost their phone and their security is out-of-date. What happens to these Creators? will they have to pay a huge fine, even though they cannot even get into their account before 1st January, let alone even after?

Youtube is only for users who 13-years-of-age and over, yet cookies have been sent to unsupervised younger children, and Youtube has been called to pay a huge fine. The US wants Youtube creators to be responsible, putting the onus on them.

Youtubers have said have said that if each video is is not marked correctly, they could risk paying a huge fine by the US Government, and bankrupting the Creator, even if they aren’t even earning any money from their Channels. Some Creators have made decades of Youtube videos. some from childhood. Many video would be lost including Wellbeing and Mental Health, even citizen journalist sites. Thousands of local videos will go, years and years of local history added over time. It is not just videos from 1st January, it is all the videos previously, which is a monumental amount to wade through.

Some Youtubers have also said that they are worried that their channels will be taken away in December 2019 if they aren’t earning any money from ad revenue.
